Boundaries aren’t harsh — they’re healthy.

That might mean:

  • No emails after a certain time

  • Blocking family time in your calendar

  • Saying “no” without over-explaining

When you don’t set boundaries, other people set them for you.

3. Manage Energy, Not Just Time

Time management is important. Energy management is critical.

Prioritise high-value work.
Schedule thinking time.
Protect recovery time.

And remember self-care isn’t indulgent. It’s strategic

Constant connectivity keeps your nervous system switched on.

Create moments where you are fully offline:

  • Phone down at dinner

  • No laptop on weekends

  • A digital detox window

Presence is more powerful than productivity.

5. Ask for Help

Delegation isn’t weakness — it’s leadership.

At work and at home, you don’t have to carry everything alone. Share responsibility. Build support around you.

6. Ask for flexibility

  •    If possible, negotiate for flexible work arrangements.

  •    Discover the benefits and challenges of remote work.

  •    Consider careers that align better with your desired work-life balance.

  •    Explore options that provide fulfillment without overwhelming demands.

Work–life balance isn’t about perfection.
It’s about conscious choices.

For me, the turning point was aligning my time and energy to my core values — and having the courage to set boundaries that supported them.
